The star of dozens of films, including Blue Jasmine, Elizabeth, and Lord of the Rings, moved with her husband and three sons back to Australia to be closer to family, give her boys a permanent home, and be near the Australian theater community.
This Earth Sign native is outspoken on behalf of environmental causes as well as women's rights. Accepting the Best Actress Oscar for her acclaimed performance in Blue Jasmine, she spoke out about the power of films about women:
