No one is more determined than Taurus Tatyana!

At 6, Tatyana McFadden, paralyzed by spina bifida, was adopted from a Russian orphanage. Her mother, Deborah, urged her to try sports.

At 24, Tatyana became the first woman to win six gold medals at the 2013 International Paralympic Committee Athletics World Championships. She won silver in Nordic skiing at the 2014 Sochi Paralympics, and won the women's wheelchair division of the Boston, Chicago, London, and New York marathons.

A lawsuit she filed expanded the rights of Maryland students with disabilities to compete in interscholastic sports. The words Tatyana lives by come courtesy of Gandhi, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
