Practical Magic Characters as Zodiac Signs

Aries: Jimmy Angelov

What screams a lying vampire wannabe more than anger issues? Aries are known for their impulsive and energetic nature. Filled with bravado swagger, Jimmy could stop the heart of anyone he set his eyes on – including our dear Gillian. He’s a good actor ready to put on a performance to ensure he gets exactly what he wants. Scorpios are dark and brooding but no one puts on a show quite like an Aries.

Taurus: Lovelorn Lady

Venus ruled Taurus loves a good romance. The Lovelorn Lady is utterly desperate for her beloved. In a story where grief rules the heart someone ought to get the outcoming they’re searching for. Although, in our wisdom of age maybe we can see where this was a warning about what was to come.

Gemini: Carla

The queen of all things Gossip. The information center of the town is our queen Carla. Non-judgemental being able to be employed at Sally’s shop we love that she lives for all the drama while not wanting to participate in it herself. Carla is the resident Gemini on the scene being able to navigate all the social systems of the town.

Cancer: Maria Owens

Since the birthdate of Maria Owens, we can only assume our emotional and baneful Matriarch of the family is a Cancer. She concocted her vengeance to last like the good little crab she is with a protective shell designed to last. Lost in her grief she couldn’t see that the consequences of her emotions may have adverse effects, but at least she brought the drama.

Leo: Sarah

Who better to represent the enemy of the family turned frenemy Sarah. Miss head of the PTA Sarah centers herself in self-righteous ways and can we really blame her for being jealous of the Owens Family? It is very Leo main-character energy of her, and we can forgive her as she showed herself in the end to be a girl’s girl by assisting the Owens in their time of need.

Virgo: Gary Hallet

A detailed oriented diva, Gary Hallet is a Virgo through and through in his detective mode. We appreciate his ability to protect his peace, through maintaining his duties under the law, and going after what he wants – Sally. He got the closure he was originally seeking by capturing Jimmy (though posthumously) and managed to get a baddie. We should all want to be in Gary’s shoes. Or do we?

Libra: Aunt Frances

Another prominent member of the Owens family and one we also don’t know the birthdate of. She is full of the famous quick witted quips of New England speech that is only made better than the charisma of a Libra. Known for their charm Aunt Frances has the best schemes and everyone still loves her when she dishing out the hard truths.

Scorpio: The Owen Sisters

Sally and Gillian Owens are both canonically born on October 31st. It makes so much sense that the ones bringing drama into our lives are Scorpios. Scorpios are often considered dark and brooding, but they can also be extremely likable if you bother to get to know them. We can see this in how people are quick to warm to Gillian in her fun carefree ways, but are reserved when it comes to Sally are she struggles to stick to the status quo.

Sagittarius: Aunt Jet (Bridget Owens)

Aunt Jet, the partner in crime to Aunt Frances is both on December 5th. She is blunt in her delivery and doesn’t like to mince words. Yet, the passion she brings to her craft is delivered with a soft touch that is true to the ways of a Sagittarius.

Capricorn: Linda Bennett

Linda Bennett, another PTA momma, is our clean house Diva. While people often feel Virgos are the clean freaks – Capricorns are often more organized. They are bothered by the unexpected as that can be an annoyance. They’d rather things be in their place where they can better manage and plan accordingly.

Aquarius: Antonia Owens

The youngest member of the Owens family Antonia – is a bit of the odd one out. She hasn’t come into her gifts yet and she often falls in Kylie’s shadow. She spends a lot of time doing her own thing or being as helpful as she can be while still being a child. Aquarius is a sign that is a little weird and it would make sense if Antonia as a little witch with her budding intuition fell under this sign.

Pisces: Kylie Owens

The most intuitive Owens family member is Kylie Owens. She is imaginative in her youth and loves to sculpt her reality. Pisces as a sign align with the treats most closely with imagination and heightened intuition. Since Antionia and Kylie get along so well as the two sign the latest in the zodiac wheel and holding the most wisdom the two compliment each other quite nicely. Although, hopefully her casting gets a bit more inventive than just giving the other towns kids chicken pox.
