Cool facts about your symbol of the Scales...

I’ve wondered why our sign’s “glyph”, or written symbol, isn’t more like an actual scale, and so I did a little research to find out why. Here’s what I learned!

- Our symbol represents perfect balance, so it originated from the Egyptian symbol for a Sun setting on the horizon – a doorway between two worlds (night and day).
- Another interpretation is that it’s a crescent Moon connected to two straight lines above another straight line.
- The top lines stand for emotions bound by reason. The bottom line symbolizes partnership.
