History of the Fool Card
While the message of this card hasn't changed much throughout history, its numbering has. The Fool may appear as an unnumbered card that belongs with the Major Arcana but isn't exactly like the other cards. In other decks, it's labeled as the "zero" card (because of its focus on a journey's beginning). Other times, it's categorized as card "twenty-two." Thus, it's seen as both the lowest and highest card in the Major Arcana. (However you interpret that is up to you!)
