The chart is fascinating for the biggest royal occasion in years! Here's a forecast of the big day.
On Friday, April 29, 2011, at 11 a.m., Catherine Middleton and Prince William will be coiffed and attired for one of the most important occasions of their lives - their wedding day. The place, of course, is Westminster Abbey in London. What do the stars show for this date and time?
The Ascendant of the wedding chart is in regal Leo, which absolutely suits the pageantry and royal nature of the occasion. There couldn't be a better Ascendant for a day of such pomp and ceremony. Millions of people around the world will enjoy the sheer spectacle of it all, the drama as everyone waits to see Kate's dress, the many dignitaries and celebrities from around the world, and the sight of the happy couple once they're wed.
As befits a wedding chart, all eyes are on the Seventh House, which is ruled by Uranus. Uranus is in fiery Aries in the Eighth House, along with Venus in Aries and the Moon in Pisces. So there is no doubt that William and Kate are going to be revolutionary in their approach to married life. They may break with many of the traditions, unspoken rules, and expectations of royal couples.
In the Seventh House is Neptune conjunct Chiron in Pisces. The wedding will be a deeply moving occasion. It will also not be without some sadness, as the last major royal occasion at the Abbey was the funeral of the Queen Mother and before that, the funeral of Prince William's mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. Have tissues at the ready, because there are going to be some very emotional moments.
The Moon in Pisces in the Eighth House suggests that this wedding will be something of a catharsis for many people. It will have a healing quality and may well bring an element of closure for Prince William, Prince Harry, and other members of the royal family who have weathered so much turbulence.
The feisty sign of Aries is very much emphasized with five planets, two of which are in the Eighth House and three in the Ninth House. Venus and Mercury are conjunct on ether side of the cusp, indicating this is a meeting and blending of minds and hearts. The Eighth House is associated with deep soul bonds and connections in which two become one. There is also a sense that this is a new start and perhaps a rebirth of sorts.
Both Jupiter and Mars are conjunct in Aries in the Ninth House, which highlights the fact that this is an international occasion that will yield many future opportunities for both Kate and William. They are certainly going places, and they will make great ambassadors for the United Kingdom.
Saturn is still retrograde in Libra and opposite both Venus and Mercury in Aries. It's a sobering, steadying influence that reminds everyone present that these two have an important destiny before them. They're the future king and queen of Britain, which carries many heavy responsibilities. So even though this is a happy occasion, it's also the portal to a new life in which they will belong to the public as much as to each other.
Finally, the Sun in the wedding chart is in earthy Taurus, also in the Ninth House. This means that the marriage will be very fruitful, not just in terms of bringing children - and heirs - into the world, but on all levels. Their influence will be positive on an international level, too. The Sun trines Pluto in Capricorn in the Fifth House, so their marriage will completely transform them, as one might expect. Ten years from now they will have matured into their roles.
The day itself looks as though it's going to be as fabulous as everyone expects, and perhaps even better. Expect one or two surprises, too!
