Welcome to “Un-Cuffing” Season: How to Cut Ties for Good

Make us a preferred source

Fall is normally cuffing season. It’s tempting to reach for the nearest person and couple up for the long, dark winter months. We all deserve a little cuddle, but the astrological planets have caught up to you and your boo. You can’t always settle, and the universe would rather you need an extra blanket this coming holiday season than be tethered to a headache. You can rightfully blame all the Scorpio placements, especially the Venus retrograde in Scorpio.

While Scorpio as a sign doesn’t thrive under the gaze of Venus, as it is ruled by Mars and Pluto, it does love to be seen. You may be confused because most Scorpios are like black cats that would prefer to blend in with the shadows and be mysterious. Venus is the ruler over not just romance but your aesthetic. Mars tells you how someone should care for you. This is a time of exploration. AND maybe the person you’re with isn’t open to your needs. Instead of fuzzy blankets, fuzzy handcuffs are in order.

And Mercury, which is going retrograde in Scorpio, tells you how you communicate. This is a good time to lean into voicing your desires. The more you give voice to your wants, the better you’ll understand whether your partner meets your needs.

Not only will all that Scorpio energy give you a little extra motivation to be your authentic self and give you the courage to walk away from a subpar connection, it will also reveal all the secrets. AND it will, of course, also try to draw your exes back into your inbox. It’s important you take the lessons from the past to have better relationships. We don’t need to be out here repeating the same mistakes.

Note: Venus retrograde occurs on October 3 and Mercury goes retrograde on October 24, all of which is highlighted by the sun in Scorpio starting on October 23. Remember when it was mentioned that Scorpio is also ruled by Pluto? That’s the planetary ruler of death. We’re all experiencing a collective ego death around our relationships under this stellium in Scorpio.

Ritual to Get a Little Revenge on Your Ex: A Simple Beginner Spell

This spell is a return to sender. Any ill will and any negative energy that is coming your way will get sent right back. This is also nice to combine with both a cord-cutting ritual and a nice cleansing ritual bath. This way, once you return the energy, it can’t come back.

You’ll need a fire-safe dish, black salt (you can substitute for red pepper flakes and black peppercorns), and a black chime candle. You can also use a white tea light or a white chime or taper candle to sub for the black.

Make sure your items have been cleansed before use. Form a circle around the candle on your dish with the salt or salt mixture. In the candle, carve the name of the person or the energy you’re looking to return. Light the candle and let it burn down a bit before flipping the candle. The act of rotating the candle is the physical act of the energy getting returned to the sender. This will also melt the candle to your fire-safe dish. Light the candle once more and let it burn away. Afterward, flush away or toss your ashes outside the home. This energy is no longer welcome here.

Good luck this “un-cuffing” season. Remember to protect your energy and have higher standards; it’s never worth a headache. No one gets to hurt you and just walk away.
