In a dark or dimly lit room, sit in a comfortable and upright posture. Place the candle as close to your eye level as possible so when you light the flame it is right below your gaze.
Light the candle, bring your attention to the flame and soften your gaze. Focus on the negative feelings or things you would like to change and imagine the flames replacing them with positive thoughts or emotions. Whenever you mind wanders, bring it back to the flame.
