Your April Horoscope: Prepare For Three (Yes, Three) Retrogrades
Welcome spring! March sure was a crazy busy with Uranus moving into Taurus after seven years, the Spring Equinox happening the same day as the Libra full moon, all sandwiching a Mercury retrograde (in Pisces, no less)—can you imagine why we’re a little tired?
But unfortunately, April isn’t about to get any slower. The month kicks off with a new moon on April 5 in the sign of Aries which will fill us with “can do” energy, but will also have the draining potential to shorten our tempers. Toward the end of the month on April 19, we’ll have yet another full moon in Libra (this is exciting, since same-sign moons only happen once a year!) which focuses on second chances in our romance sectors.

Lastly, this month you’ll want to prepare yourself for not one—not two—but three simultaneous retrogrades.
Yep, you heard right. Lucky Jupiter (April 10), powerful Pluto (April 24), and—just as we enter Taurus season—rule-abiding Saturn (April 29) will all turn retrograde this month. What does this mean? Well, as these three planets form a triple retrograde between April 24 and August 11, we’ll be asked to take careful speculation of our relationships.
How the Planets Will Affect Your Sign in April
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
This is your power month! The new moon in your sign will kickstart a feeling of total rebirth for you—making all your dreams seem feasible. Jupiter’s retrograde mid-month will mark a personal turning point where you’ll be asked to come into your own authority regarding a long-term goal. As the full moon brings the month to a close, so might a relationship that has been lingering for too long.

Taurus (April 20 – May 21)
Practice patience this month Taurus, as many great things might pop up all at once. During the new moon at the beginning of the month, try to take some time to be alone. Mid-month, on the nineteenth, you’ll again feel the need to create more balance in your life. What will make you feel centered?
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
As Mercury (Gemini’s personal planet) moves direct once again, the beginning of April will be about navigating a professional situation that has thrown a wrench in long-term plans. By Jupiter’s retrograde on the tenth, you’re feeling the pressure to solidify the relationships you’ve made over the last couple months. The latter part of the month, during the full moon, will be a time to celebrate the relationships you do choose to continue with.

By the nineteenth, your attention will be brought to finding financial and emotional security in the things around you. Go from the inside, out; start with the home and move from there.

Leo (July 22 – August 22)
A lot has been going on, we know. All these changes have left you feeling drained and wondering where you should go from here. Good news, Leo: the new moon on April 5 should revitalize you, while Jupiter retrograde gives you the faith to ask yourself some tough personal questions. Lastly, be prepared for an unforeseen shift in your professional life at the end of the month.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Relationships will be under the microscope this month, but they’ll also start heating up! By April 19, relationships will step off the stage and the spotlight will point toward you. Where are your commitments right now, Virgo? Are they working for or against you? These are the questions you’ll be asked.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Being a Libra, you like having control of your life. The problem with this month is… it’ll be about not having control. Relationships will change this month and you’ll have to act rationally even though some intense emotions may be involved. No matter how chaotic things get, take care of yourself first. The rest will fall into place.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
The beginning of the month will ask you to focus on daily routines and health. It’s time to cut out the toxic things that weigh you down. It makes things easier when Jupiter turns retrograde, as you start to realize your value more and more. A relationship with a Scorpio is often passionate, but things get extra sensual around the Libra full moon on April 19. Let the connection deepen.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Jupiter’s been in Sagittarius since last November, so you’ve been feeling super powerful in terms of starting anew. But as this planet turns retrograde on April 10, you’ll start to take an even deeper look inward. Some spiritual growth is on the horizon.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
Starting April 5, you’ll hit a natural Capricorn urge: organizing. Your home space is calling your attention this month as you dive into some spring cleaning and repairs. Be prepared for the full moon at the end of the month to shed light on a new perspective in your professional space.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Be extra careful with your choices this month as they’ll shape long-term realities later on. As you do this, have faith in your intuition to keep you moving on the straight and narrow. By the end of the month, that full moon on the nineteenth will urge you to start a conversation. The best thing to do is speak truthfully (you can do that right, Aquarius?); you don’t want things to be left unsaid.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
Professionally, you’ve been moving around since Jupiter entered Sagittarius last year. But once it turns retrograde on the tenth, you’ll finally have a chance to review all the challenges you’ve hurdled. Now is the time to do things for you(finally, right?). Lastly, that full moon at the end of the month is bound to open a new door to a new path—get ready!
